Day 4

Monday June 28th

We're on the move again! Time to go to Kelowna to see Nana and Papa. Plus we'll have our first night in the trailer! We got all loaded up and head out but had some problems on the highway. It was really windy out and the trailer really got swaying a few times. Mom and Dad were scared enough that we had to pull over. I guess the extra weight of the bikes on the back of the trailer was too much so we had to move everything inside. After that it was smooth sailing. We picked up Nana and went up to the camp site. We wanted to stay at one right in Kelowna near the beach but they didn't allow dogs! We hung out for the evening with Nana and Papa. Mom got me a seat so I can sit right at the table with them and I got to try a raspberry. I made a big mess but it was fun.

Mom put me to bed in my tent in the trailer, but you can see in this picture that I'm not sleeping!

Day 3

Sunday June 27

Today was a relaxing day for me. Mom and dad worked on getting more stuff organized, grandpa helped dad with the bike rack for the trailer and I practiced crawling. I haven't got the hang of it yet but I can spin in circles. Oh and I have a second bottom tooth now!

Day 2

Saturday June 26

Today is going to be a nice relaxing day in Merritt. I got up early so dad could watch the World Cup before he goes golfing. Mom got up later and then we had a visit with Auntie Christine who brought us some coffee! I mostly chilled out with mom and dad today, trying to avoid having to take a nap. I got away with it for a little while but then mom decided enough was enough. Here's a couple of pictures from today while I was out helping dad and grandpa:

After I had to go to bed, everyone else got to sit around and enjoy a campfire. Just for that I'm going to wake up at 4am!!

Day 1

Friday June 25th

Finally we're leaving for our big adventure! We've had a few snags along the way like U-Haul cancelling our tow package installation and getting a flat tire. But now we're all set, first stop is Merritt to see Grandpa, Auntie Christine and cousin Brenden.
We finished getting everything loaded up by mid-morning and we're ready to roll:

We decided to take the scenic route, up Hwy 99 to Lilloett, down to Lytton, up Hwy 1 to Spence's Bridge and then Hwy 8 into Merritt. There is way less traffic this way and it's a beautiful drive:

We were going to stop in Lilloett but I think I was sleeping so we pushed on to Lytton for a little break, picnic in the park and a chance to stretch out:

We got stopped by this train at the entrance to Hwy 8. It was just sitting on the tracks when we showed up but lucky for us it moved off pretty quick.

Since I slept in the car around 5, I wasn't tired when we got to Grandpa's so I got to stay up late and have dinner with the adults, plus my cousin Josh and his parents.
